In Romania, sex education is still an optional subject in schools. Despite campaigning over the course of two years to add sex education as a mandatory subject in school curriculum, the Chamber of Deputies in Romania introduced a highly unfavourable bill in 2022, which limits sex education to students in 8th grade and above.
